      5. Resin Bounded Driveways, are they for you?

Resin bonded drives have grown in popularity over recent years as they provide a beautiful, hard standing surface that isn’t the loose like you would find with a gravel driveway.

You will find that there are two forms of resin bonded drives, one will be that the gravel is mixed in the resin and then hand trowelled on to the driveway, the other is when the resin is spread across the driveway and gravel is thrown across the driveway. Here we operate by trowelling the driveway to a smooth flat finish.

Where do you find resin bonded driveway surfaces?

Resin bonded surfaces are common across commercial and industrial surfaces but not as popular in residential properties or places of high footfall, this is because the surface is of a rough finish. Normally to add extra grip to the surface.

What to expect from a resin bonded surface

Resin bonded surfaces are non-permeable which means water or any liquid cannot pass through the surface, this means that soak-aways and drainage need to be installed take make them compliant, and prevent flooding.

You may notice that some of the aggregate can come away over time which constant usage for example car tyres.

      The Yorkshire Resin Company

We recommend a resin bound surface over a resin bonded surface every time, this is because of its smooth finish, hard wearing qualities and SUD compliant regulations.

You will also find that resin bond driveways are much easier to clean and maintain than that of a resin bonded driveway.

Both resin bond and bonded driveways come with an array of finishes to choose from.
