      5. Gravel in Construction

Have you ever wondered where gravel is from that is used every day in the construction industry?

As you all know gravel is in fact a loose aggregation of small fragments of rock that come in array of sizes and not just used by ourselves for resin driveways but all across the construction industry too.

Gravel is formed naturally during the weathering and the erosion of rocks, it can be produced in quarries known in the industry as gravel pits, and this includes the following rock type’s sandstone, limestone and basalt, which are then crushed down to size. Gravel itself are particles of rock from around 2mm to 60mm, they come a wide range of colours, textures and stone types which makes them perfect for driveway installation.

Other than Resin Driveways what else do we use gravel for?

Along with sand it is used to manufacture concrete, it can also be mixed with pebbles to form a render known as pebbledash which is used for many external walls leaving a rough finish and texture.
